H3 · child cells

Split hexagons into children.

Paste H3 cell IDs. Choose a finer resolution. Get every child cell contained inside — ready to copy, download, or paste into Snowflake, PostGIS, or BigQuery.

What's this for?

H3 is Uber's hexagonal geospatial index — each cell has a parent at a coarser resolution and up to seven children at a finer one. When you have a list of cells at resolution N and need the finer tessellation at N+k (for a spatial join, a heatmap, or an incentive-zone break-down) you need to enumerate those children.

H3Split does exactly that. Everything runs in your browser via h3-js — no cells are sent to a server, nothing is logged.
